VILLAGE COMMITTEE
Meeting at the Village Hall typically 3-4 times a year, the Committee are the Village's formal link to North Yorkshire County Council (previously Hambleton County Council)
The Committee review such items as:
The financial aspects of the Committee are mainly for three elements:
In support of the Village we can of course "nudge" the Council when it comes to improvements in such items as:
Whereas larger Parish Councils enjoy salaried positions the work undertaken by the Committee for our Village is wholly voluntary.
The Committee review such items as:
- Planning applications
- All Council communications
- Hambleton Housing & Development plans
- Neighbourhood watch
- In addition there are local meetings of other Parish Councils and Committees that we may occasionally attend.
The financial aspects of the Committee are mainly for three elements:
- Grass cutting
- Public Liability Insurance
- Small Village Improvements
- And to achieve the above each year we ask for a precept from the Council that an element, albeit small, of your overall Council tax.

- Road safety
- Pot Holes
